Aggressive, Experienced, Compassionate.
New Jersey Motorcycle Accident Lawyer
A motorcycle crash can leave a rider or passenger managing treatment, damaged equipment and conflicting accounts of what happened. Willis Injury Law represents people injured in New Jersey motorcycle collisions. Our review focuses on the evidence, the people involved and the effect of the injury—not assumptions about a person because they were riding a motorcycle. Reconstructing the collision without assumptions
A left-turn collision, lane-change incident, rear-end crash or roadway-condition event can present different factual questions. Tell us where each vehicle was traveling, what you saw before impact and whether anyone witnessed the event. The location of vehicle damage, scene photographs, available video and the crash report may help test the accounts. A citation or an insurer’s initial description should be reviewed in context rather than treated as the complete record.
Motorcycle evidence worth preserving
Keep original photographs, report information, witness contacts, insurer letters and records relating to the damaged motorcycle. If you still have the motorcycle, helmet or other riding equipment, tell us where it is before repairs, disposal or changes occur. These items may be relevant to understanding the collision or injury. Do not enter an unsafe location or attempt to inspect dangerous equipment to gather information.
Available evidence may also include nearby business cameras, dashcam recordings, photographs taken by others, towing information and repair estimates. Tell us the approximate time and precise location so potential sources can be identified. Keep receipts for towing, storage or other expenses you want to discuss. Recording and storage practices vary, so raise preservation questions promptly; the firm cannot promise that a particular recording or item still exists.
Insurance and the effects of an injury
Do not assume the coverage questions are identical to a passenger-car claim. We review the vehicles, people, policies and coverage correspondence relevant to your situation. Bring your policy declarations and any letters explaining an acceptance, reservation or denial of coverage. Questions about medical bills, wage loss and other expenses should be evaluated against the actual facts and policies rather than a generic online answer.
Medical records, work restrictions and records of missed earnings help explain how the injury affects daily life. A useful claim assessment considers responsibility, documented losses, disputed evidence and available coverage. The same injury label does not establish the same outcome for every rider. We discuss what the records support and what additional information is needed.
How our firm approaches the claim
Our work can include gathering records, reviewing collision evidence, communicating with insurers and helping the client understand settlement proposals and other options. We explain the issues as the evidence develops. Whether a claim can be resolved, and on what terms, depends on its individual circumstances; no result or completion date is guaranteed.
Michael T. Willis leads the practice with 25 years of legal experience and five years of prior service as a Special Deputy Attorney General in New Jersey. We assist injured people from our Hackensack office. View our other injury services.
Common motorcycle-accident questions
Can a motorcycle passenger request a review?
Yes. Explain who was operating the motorcycle, which vehicles were involved and what records you have. A passenger’s circumstances and potentially relevant insurance need their own assessment.
What if I cannot remember the impact?
Tell us what you do remember and identify anyone who helped afterward. Missing recollection is an issue to investigate through other evidence; you should not guess or fill in details you do not know.
